About TheSSDLab
TheSSDLab is a buyer’s guide to SSDs, RAM and memory cards for readers in the US and the UK. We explain what the specifications mean, compare models on the data their manufacturers publish, and — once our test bench is running — will add our own measurements.
Where we are today
TheSSDLab is new. We have not tested any product yet. Our test bench is planned, not built, and every page on the site says so where it matters:
- Comparisons and guides are spec-based: they use manufacturer datasheets and standards documents, and each fact links to its source.
- Reviews with scores will only appear after a product has been through the tests described on How we test. Until then there are no scores and no “tested” labels.
- We do not publish prices. Retailer buttons are plain links without numbers.
Who writes here
Pages are written and maintained by The SSD Lab Team, a small editorial team. We do not put invented names, faces or biographies on the site. More on how the team works: Authors.
Independence
Manufacturers and retailers do not review, approve or pay for our articles. A brand cannot buy a place in a comparison or a better verdict. If we ever receive review samples, we will say so on the page and follow the sample policy on How we test.
How we make money
When the site launches, some links to retailers will be affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we write or how products are ranked. Details: Affiliate disclosure. No affiliate program is active yet.
Corrections
Specifications change and we make mistakes. If you find an error, tell us via Contact — we fix factual errors and note significant corrections on the page.
